I joined the Board of Directors in 2019.  I serve as the Vice President and as the Chair of the Marketing Committee.  So when you read our Nickering News or view a post on social media, I’m proud to be part of the team creating such great content.

I grew up just outside of Washington, DC and we moved down here from New York City. We didn’t do a lot with horses when we first moved here. But my youngest son, who has autism, decided he wanted to ride a horse! We did some research and discovered Helping Horse. Our son’s experience was incredible: increased confidence and core strength, respect and love for the animals, and fun. Personally, I was in awe of the beauty, size, and speed of the horses, and the courage and strength it takes our riders to climb up so high and stay focused.  

After seeing the positive impact riding had on my son and so many other riders, I decided to join the Board and put some sales, marketing and media skills to good work.  I am very excited for the plans that we have to grow the program, both in Wendell and throughout the Triangle. I am blown away every day by our amazing group of instructors and volunteers that have nurtured this program for the past 30 years and made it thrive.  I am looking forward to seeing you all at the farm!
