Dixie born in 2012 is a bay quarter horse mare who came to us in 2018. She is one of the most beautiful horses on our farm, also the youngest. Dixie suffered a severe injury to her front left leg in 2015 which took her out of her show career. Her owner did not want her to just hang out in the pasture for her remaining years so she brought her to us and she has been wonderful. She is energetic, however, listens so well to her leaders during class and riders love her. She does have to be careful to not overdue it so she hangs out with Frosty, our pony, in a smaller paddock and they have become great buddies.
Esmerelda (or “Ez”) born in 2005, is a Quarter Horse mare who came to us from a local rescue in early 2014. She came to us blind in her left eye and in 2019 had to have that eye removed due to infection, but doesn’t let that stop her. Esmerelda is a very curious and very “nosy” mare who likes to check out new things with her nose first. She’s very affectionate and loves her neck scratched.
